Background of the Study:
The right to protest is a fundamental human right that allows citizens to express their grievances, demand accountability, and advocate for social change. In democratic societies, peaceful protests are vital for maintaining transparency, justice, and human rights. However, in many parts of Nigeria, including Yola North, Adamawa State, the right to protest has been curtailed through the use of force, arrests, and intimidation by law enforcement agencies.
